Description
In this basic course, the student learns the parts of a sewing machine, how to operate and thread the machine, how to put in a standard seam, and how to do machine and pin basting. The course explains how to fix puckered seams or skipped stitches through the use of a chart that shows the correct thread and needle sizes for many common fabrics. Included is information on buying fabric and how to use the bias of a fabric to get best results. The student gets to sew his own laundry bag, and learns how to do various kinds of repair sewing.
